公開前より各所で話題沸騰のマーベル・スタジオ最新作『ブラックパンサー』が、アメリカで2018年2月16日（金曜日・現地時間）に封切りを迎えた。前売りチケットの販売がヒーロー映画史上１位を記録するなど、公開前より大ヒットがほとんど確約されていた同作は、現地時間の19日（月）までにアメリカ国外を含む興行収入が3億6,100万ドルとなった見込み。オープニング興行収入記録としては歴代5位の快挙となった。
