偉大なロックバンド、ヴァン・ヘイレン（Van Halen）のギタリストであるエドワード（エディ）・ヴァン・ヘイレンが2020年10月6日、ガンのため亡くなった。
「ライトハンド奏法」と呼ばれるテクニックを広め、ロックギター界に革命をもたらした。「ジャンプ」「パナマ」など世界的な有名曲の数々で知られ、ハリウッド映画でおなじみの楽曲も多い。
